We remember our Poppie!

Carlyle F. Sturm "Poppie"
June 13th, 1918- April 7th, 2005
We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Paige's first haircut!!

After three attempts to cut Paige's hair, we finally had to just bite the bullet and make her go through with it!!!
She first watched her sister and her baby get theirs cut (I think she was just throwing them to the wolves)! And after it was all done (tears and all), we left a little less frizzy, a piece of candy in hand, and a HUGE weight lifted off of our shoulders (literally)!

Green thumbs...part 1

The girls have decided to tryout their green thumbs and grow their very own greenhouse! Hopefully they will have better luck with greenery than their mother!

Baxter's Weekend Wrap-up!

Busy weekend for the life of a dog!! He took one look at the swamp (aka pond) Chris and I were cleaning in our backyard, and quickly found something else to do, like help Paige water the grass (however, I think she watered him more)! After a long day playing outside, and a much needed bath, he went on to take a nap while Chris worked on his laptop and mommy folded laundry!!! How does this work? He plays, while we work??? We're just really glad he is a part of our family! And we're really hoping he doesn't pee on the Easter bunny next weekend..."you know mom, he just gets too excited!"~Piper

~Happy Easter Week!

A mess of toys!

For all of you with little ones, you definitely understand the "toy" thing! The toys are always everywhere and a total mess! I even find toys in the most awkward places (like my master bathroom, in my shoe closet, and even in my bed)!

We decided the rearrange a little and move the toy room downstairs, so the girls won't have a direct access anymore (hence, I won't have to clean up as much)! But that also backfired...they ALWAYS want to be down there, so I don't get anything done upstairs, and again the toys are ALWAYS a mess!!

Here comes Peter Cottontail...

Today we went for fish & chips at the mall today and were pleasantly surprised that the Easter Bunny was also there.
Being a great mom and all, I waited for 30 minutes just to get to sit on his lap and by the time it was our turn, Paige wanted nothing to do with him...surprised~not really. Hence, that's why I am in the picture (never again)! For only $25, you too can have these fun holiday memories!!!
~Happy Friday!!!
*What I failed to mention is that this is a family picture and Chris is in the bunny suit!!!

Red shoe diaries

So here's the dress! For those of you who don't know what I am talking about I have been scrambling this week to find a cocktail dress for a "semi" formal auction we have been invited to. I am actually really excited because this is the first time (since my honeymoon) I have been able to wear something other than scrubs or blue jeans (no joke)!

I also think it was an act from God that I found these awesome berry red Bandolino pumps (clearance for $25), that I absolutely could not pass up! My girlfriend Kelly (I went shopping with) thinks "no go" for the red shoes, but I think they are kind of saucy and fun....so I need your help ( as well as help from control top pantyhose)! Yay or nay for the red shoes???
