Happy Halloween from the Bee Family!

This year we all decided to dress up for Halloween; our girls went as princess bee's, Baxter a baby bee, Mommy the queen bee, and Daddy the bee keeper!
And after a fun filled night of yummy treats with friends and hardcore "trick or treating", we called it a successful night because everyone went to bed bellyache free (and a bonus that we can sleep in an extra hour tomorrow)! Yippee!!!!

Halloween Heart Rock!

Piper & Paige found the most beautiful Halloween Heart Rock at "Katie's Ocean" (Bellingham Bay) yesterday. And, according to Chris, they were absolutely insistent on leaving it for me and a nice Halloween card when I got home from work last night!!! Oh, the fun surprises I receive so late at night that absolutely melt my heart!!!!

one of the reason I love fall!

The smell of fresh cut pumpkins and pumpkin seeds roasting in the oven brings me back to my childhood and wonderful memories of traditions shared at the Michaud home!

pumpkin carving, friends, & stitches!

The yearly tradition of pumpkin carving started just like every other year, but somehow ended in more of a scarier fashion with a trip the ER and four stitches for Jason! I tried to tell him that there would be no scary costumes at the Schweigert's, but he seemed to think the Frankenstein look was in.

I think next year we will go with the trend of painting pumpkins instead!!

All clear.

Rest assured, I DID find my husband...he was hidden behind all the dirty dishes from dinner last night and all the dirty laundry he left me from his business trip (hence, why I took down the missing persons post). But thank you all for being on the lookout! :)

It's a "Mom" thing!

This was a forward I got in an email this morning, and I thought all the other Mom's would also enjoy it!

IF YOU GIVE A MOM A MUFFIN…

"If you give a mom a muffin,
She’ll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She’ll pour herself some.
Her three-year-old will spill the coffee.
She’ll wipe it up.
Wiping the floor, she’ll find dirty socks.
She’ll remember she has to do laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She’ll trip over boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan for supper.
She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She’ll look for her cookbook (”101 Things To Do With a Pound of Hamburger”).
The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow.
She will look for her checkbook.
The check book is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two-year-old.
She’ll smell something funny.
She’ll change the two year old’s diaper.
While she is changing the diaper, the phone will ring.
Her five-year-old will answer and hang up.
She’ll remember she wants to phone a friend for coffee.
Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup.
And chances are…If she has a cup of coffee,
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it."

Too early for Thanksgiving???

As most of you know, Thanksgiving is my FAVORITE holiday, and it's probably because you can stuff yourself silly ALL day and answer to no one...it's Thanksgiving, right???

Ever since I can remember I would always help my mother in the kitchen to prepare this huge meal while the men watched all the football they could handle.

It was always real important that the table looked as spectacular as the food tastes. I can remember learning basic table etiquette from my mother as: "set the salad fork next to the dinner fork (on the left) and spoon and knife (on the right), always offer to the left and pass to your right", as we would put the finishing touches to the beautiful holiday meal. I too have decided to carry on the tradition of a beautiful setting as well as a beautiful meal when it comes to holiday gatherings, whether I cook for two or twenty!

I have been eyeing this set of Thanksgiving dishes at TJ Maxx for awhile now, and after receiving the most recent Pottery Barn magazine this weekend, I decided that these magnificent dishes are just the finishing touch I need to add to my collection. While I got a set of 4 turkey dishes for $12.99 (and I did get a full serving for 12~both dinner and salad plates), the other is listed as 4 for $48.00 (not including shipping)!

Mom, you would be soooooo proud!!!

He makes me happy!

I can't believe I almost forgot why I am completely in love with my husband, but every once in awhile he reminds me!
This is the picture he emailed me late Sunday night from the airplane on his way to a business trip just "in case" I would forget about him and his beautiful grin!!!

Seashells from Aunt Laurie!

Aunt Laurie came to visit last evening on her way through town, and it was sooooo fun to see her, as it has been many years since we last caught up! She also brought some fun goodies for the girls from the beach and her many travels.

So that's what we did first thing this morning (on this rainy day), was clean seashells and put them out for everyone to see!

Thanks Aunt Laurie for coming to visit and for all the fun gifts! You are ALWAYS welcome at the Schweigert's!

The 19# Squash!

I just had to share with you the fun surprise that welcomed me when I came home last night (and at 11pm at night, it kinda startled me)!
Can you believe this beautiful vegetable was grown locally by a nice co-worker Chris works with?
It looks like we'll be having fall squash dishes for awhile!!! :)

My husband thinks he's a golf pro!

Today Chris was up extra early working on his golf swing in the backyard anticipating his fun filled day at the golf course. I tried to tell him that I have yet to find a course that the par is 120, but he didn't care he was just excited for a fun day of birdies, fairways, eagles, and bogey's!!!

Fall into Autumn...

...at the pumpkin patch!
Yesterday Chris left work a little early and we met up with Katie and some good friends for some pumpkin picking and pictures (but guess who left her camera at home...yours truly). Thank goodness I was in the company of two really talented ladies and their cameras~ thanks to Jen who took these two cute ones and Rebecca of which you will later see in some really cute Christmas cards!!!!

We left with some really fun pumpkins and wonderful memories and will for sure make this a fun Fall Schweigert tradition!!!

Ta rah rah boom dee yah Piper lost her tooth today!

My Tooth
My tooth fell out and left a space
So big my tongue can touch my face,
And every time I smile I show
The place where something used to grow.
I miss my tooth as you can guess
But now I have to brush one less!

I will put my tooth in a pouch
And on the pillow lay to sleep
In the morn in it I will peep
And find a gift for me to keep.

Special Delivery!

So here it is...the infamous new leather sofa and matching chair (not pictured)! They were delivered on Friday, and normally I would have run to my computer to share with my family and friends, but couldn't quite find the right words and good lighting to share with you all. And since some of my good friends couldn't stand the suspense and decided to stop over, I decided to finally post pictures anyway for the rest to see!
