Piper was assigned a project to document acts of caring she exhibited over the following year and then was chosen to present it at the Martin Luther King assembly at school. Just a few of her acts towards the community were: 1. Her participation in the annual Jingle Bell Run for arthritis. 2. Making crafts and then delivering and caroling at a local nursing home during Christmas. 3. Picking up garbage in our neighborhood during a recent windstorm on garbage day. 4. Donating warm coats to a local jacket drive.
