Only Half Crazy...13.1

Today I ran my very first half marathon (13.1 miles) with some of my most favorite people.  Setting a personal goal of mine (both finishing and running a pace of 9:50/mile), I am ecstatic beyond words.  Thanks also to my great family for "tailgating" and cheering me through one of my lifelong goals!

This afternoon was the annual elementary school running fundraiser, and this year even I participated.  Running totals: Piper 19 laps, Paige 14 laps and Momma 22.5 laps.

The second graders celebrated "pirate day" today at school.  Such things as a treasure chest left by a real pirate and his footsteps, pirate activities and "real life" pirate books is how they spent the day.

Our Very First "Day Date"

Let me explain.  Chris and I have been married for over 9 years, and we have an eight year old.  Get the picture???  Yes, we have had children for nearly our whole married life and an afternoon date is not one of the many luxuries we have experienced. 

Today we dropped off not just one, but both of our children at school(all day).  We took the day off and spent it together holding hands, a boulevard walk, lunch and then a little afternoon shopping.
