Book Cover

Have you ever been somewhere waiting for your kids and been embarrassed by the TRN ("Trashy Romance Novel") you are reading, and given a dirty look by one of the other preschool moms??? Well, this happen to me just last week, so I took it upon myself to design and sew my very own TRN book cover!! And as soon as my hubbie decides to purchase me my very own Nook, I can use it for that cover also!!!

April 24...day 6

8:45-10:30 Usual Saturday morning starts with Daddy's homemade "eggie sandwich's" and OJ. Cleaning, bed making, etc, etc, etc, to follow.

10:30-12:30 Get ready. Organize computer and bookcase and move into living room (so girls can have their own space).

12:30-1:30 Mommy to get her hair cut (a little shorter because my beautiful beautician is going on maternity leave for 6-8 weeks), but I love it.

1:30-4:45 Move Piper's bed and remainder of her dressers into the old "computer room". While we tidy up Paige's room to make it her own (mind you she is VERY reluctant at this time and VERY clear that she will continue to sleep in Piper's bed with her).

4:45-6:15 To church. Paigey naps while Piper prays for the things she is NOT thankful for...including church and quiet time.

6:15-7:30 Harvest Dinner (yummy homemade sausage and sauerkraut recipe of my mom's).

7:30-10:00 Chris to a work birthday party while girls take bubble bath, crawl into mommy and daddy's bed for movie and go to bed.

10:00-12:00 Daddy and Mommy movie time. The Lovely Bones (book I read awhile back...movie not near as good).

9:45-10:30 Off to dance class. Paige goes first, while Piper has her weekly hot chocolate and chocolate granola cookie (some healthy in that, right?), I hang out with a good friend (Jen) for much needed adult conversation during dance class.

10:30-11:30 Us girlies go to lunch with same friend and her daughter!!

11:30-1:30 Paige to same friends house for play date (thank you, by the way). Quickly clean house (dishes, beds, etc...). Run Piper to dance. Get ready for work. Pick Paige up from play date. Pick Piper up from Dance. Meet Katie at the house.

1:30-8:30 Work. Finish a little early.

8:30-9:30 Go to Pier One and Barnes & Nobles for recommended book Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris (with Kelly).

Do you know what a compendium is?

Compendium:~is a concise, yet comprehensive compilation of a body of knowledge.~Wikipedia

And for all the other mothers out there, whether or not you knew (because I didn't either), I think you should read this awesome compendium by Trisha Ashworth and Amy Nobile: Dirty Little Secrets from Otherwise Perfect Moms.

Oops!

I have to admit it...I broke the packed and went to TJ Maxx and bought three must have necessities (I've already gotten over it and so Chris, YOU need to too)!

1.) The cutest pair of Mee Too shoes for only $35.99 (verses $90.00 retail)!
2.)Mrs. Meyers's Clean Day Shower Cleaner $2.99 (verses $5.00 retail)...(thanks to a really good friend {you know who you are}, I am now more motivated to clean my bathrooms)!
3.) Life is Sweet by Addie Johnson $1.99 (verses $14.95 retail)! "People who appreciate the small things in life are healthier, they live longer, and they're usually more successful, although they may not define success as having the most marbles. And for sure other people want to spend more time around them." (Kind of ironic how I "stumbled" upon this book, especially after my previous post???).

LOVE it!

I'm a teenage groupie!!!

So here it is, my new favorite past time, The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer.
I started to read the first book after it was given to me by a friend, and I honestly cannot put it down. Since college I haven't really been involved in reading anything but nursing journals and home improvement books, until now! (To be honest, Chris said he didn't even know I knew how to read-ha ha)!
I am enamoured with the love story of Bella and Edward and the twists of vampires and werewolves. What is also really interesting is the plot is set in Forks, WA not far from here and the weather no different. I highly recommend these books to everyone....and YOU too can be a groupie just like me!!!

feeling a little bit loafy!

I have been reading this women's empowerment (aka self help) book, and absolutely love it! This woman is absolutely awesome and her eccentricity is great. "Live a wild, vulnerable life. Let us see you, laughing loudly in public, walking flamboyantly, and wearing colors that don't match." -Sark

So I have decided to dab deep down in my own self to find my own "true" being. As most of you know, I love shoes, purses and accessories (the funner the better), but have always been a little reluctant to wear most of them! I am trying to live a little "outside the box", and be more comfortable with "just me".

These are some of the most recent shoe finds, that I proudly wear with outfits that kind of don't match and just for fun! To tell you the truth, my outlook and attitude on life is so much better (not to mention the compliments, fun conversations, and friends that I meet)!

"So, let's risk wearing something that's a bit "too much", laughing "too much", and loving "too much"."-Sark
